From farms that are filled with family history to annual festivals that have grown to become family favorites, enjoying the region is simplicity at its best.
Trantina Farm (Homer Glen)
At the center of Trantina Farm is the Welter Barn, referred to as a beautiful specimen that is an example of the craftsmanship and pride of the community’s forbears. The nearly 50-acre farm has quickly become an ideal spot to host unique events and get-togethers. The Village of Homer Glen invites guests to take part in their annual festivals & events happening at Trantina Farm such as Stargazing, Homer Harvest Days and the Children’s Halloween Party to name a few.
Bengtson’s Farm (Homer Glen)
For over 34 years, Bengtson’s Farm has been family owned and operated with superb care and it shows! Each year, thousands of people flock to the pumpkin farm to enjoy unique fall activities and indulge in delicious fall fare such as Uncle Bub’s Award Winning BBQ or homemade apple cider donuts! Some of the other fun-filled activities include the pumpkin chucker, corn maze, Bengtson’s Kid Village, Fun Barn, camel rides, petting zoo, the haunted barn and a variety of carnival rides. Bengtson’s is open daily from 10AM-8PM from late September through late October.
Konow Farm (Homer Glen)
Konow’s Farm & Fall Fest offers endless opportunities to put a smile on your face. Get lost in one of the two corn mazes and let the kids roll around in the corn pit. Other activities at the farm include an animal barn, hayrides, a straw playground, a pedal tractor track, cow train express, the grain train and for the brave ones, a mechanical bull ride! Konow is open daily from 10AM-8PM from late September through late October.

Heritage Harvest Days (Gaelic Park, Oak Forest)

Experience Ireland’s rich history right here in the Chicago Southland at Chicago Gaelic Park’s Heritage Harvest Days! At this annual festival, you have the opportunity to watch the old threshing mill, piking of the straw, making of the sugar, and the churning of milk. The day is filled with games for kids of all ages and adults. What’s an Irish fest without traditional Irish dancing? You will be treated to a fast-paced jig.
Stargazing at Trantina Farm (Homer Glen)

Sit, back, relax and enjoy a beautiful fall evening under the stars! As the 4th International Dark Sky Community, Homer Glen invites you to experience Stargazing at Trantina Farm. This exceptional event has attracted over 2,000 people since the biannual event first started in 2007! Experience the beauty of nature, learn about the constellations and soak up the celestial views as local astronomers explain one of the universes’ most miraculous phenomenons.
Earth Day (Konow Farm, Homer Glen)

Earth Day – Arbor Day at Konow Farm is a wonderful opportunity for the entire family to play their part in protecting Mother Earth. Local demonstrators and exhibitors will explain the role that natural resources play in sustaining a high quality of life in the community and encourage participation in natural resource protection and restoration efforts.
